The First Human

First Human1

In November 2000 a team of French and Kenyan scientists, led by Martin Pickford and Brigitte Senut, excavated a cache of fossilized bones that are 6 million years old. Calling the find "Millennium Man", they claimed they had discovered the oldest direct ancestor of humankind. The bones appear to hold the key to understanding how apes first became human - by learning how to walk. This film follows Pickford and Senut in Kenya and Paris as they reveal their evidence to support the claims. Using graphics and interviews with the experts the film explains the theories and science behind this amazing discovery.
